"When misguided public opinion honors what is despicable and despises what is honorable, punishes virtue and rewards vice, encourages what is harmful and discourages what is useful, applauds falsehood and smothers truth under indifference or insult, a nation turns its back on progress and can be restored only by the terrible lessons of catastrophe." … Frederic Bastiat

Evil talks about tolerance only when it’s weak. When it gains the upper hand, its vanity always requires the destruction of the good and the innocent, because the example of good and innocent lives is an ongoing witness against it. So it always has been. So it always will be. And America has no special immunity to becoming an enemy of its own founding beliefs about human freedom, human dignity, the limited power of the state, and the sovereignty of God. – Archbishop Chaput

Must be a Slow Day at the FDA

Apparently the Food and Drug Administration has nothing better to do with their time than hunt down those crafty food terrorists also known as the Amish.

I am shocked, simply shocked, that raw, unpasteurized milk was being sold to willing buyers. It is just a matter of time before the names of these devious dairy farmers appear on the no-fly list. Then again, maybe the feds will come up with a "no horse buggy ride" list instead.

Feds sting Amish farmer selling raw milk locally

A yearlong sting operation, including aliases, a 5 a.m. surprise inspection and surreptitious purchases from an Amish farm in Pennsylvania, culminated in the federal government announcing this week that it has gone to court to stop Rainbow Acres Farm from selling its contraband to willing customers in the Washington area.

You can read the entire story here:

  1. This was not done to keep us safe, but to condition our thought processes that we are only safe if we buy from the "company" store

  2. America Land of the Free...
    America the Land of opportunity...
    America the Land of Dreams...
These are yesterday's stories and we have known it for sometimes.
Today America is anything but and we know it.

  3. Their time? More like OUR time. We're forced at gunpoint to finance the very people who oppress us. There's only one word for that: tyranny.

  5. My sentiments exactly, Dan. This is just absolutely disgusting. The family farm has been under attack for years, and it appears of late to be escalating.

  6. Dan,

Is there a tradeable milk futures contract :)

Any thoughts on oil here at $100?

  7. Of course you know why pasteurization is necessary with mass production. Because mass production of milk products causes animals to produce pus and blood, which gets into the milk.

Small producers don't have the type of problems that require pasteurization. Milk production in small lots should be an art like crafting good beer. The Feds won't allow that to happen. That's what we lose when small producers get shut out. We just don't see everything we lose with this nasty federal government.

  8. How dreadfully sad. Anyone not supportive of the ruling elite is subject to reprisal. So much for the American Revolution, now thoroughly repudiated by the present generation.

  9. The Feds bust Milk ("contraband") after a year long sting. And JP Morgan HQ and Goldman Tower go un-raided to this day. Not a one even under so much as an indictment.

I wonder how many tax dollars were squandered on this exercise in tyranny.

Obama Bin Lyin': truly a Fearless Leader, eh?

  10. The attack on unpasteurized milk is but the tip of the iceberg when it comes to .gov trying to push small farms over the edge. .gov wants EVERY farm animal to be registered into a database. Two backyard chickens? If they're not registered, they'd become illegal (and make you a criminal)under this legislation.

  11. Q: What sounds like, "clippity-clop, clippity-clop... bang, bang, bang?

    A: Amish drive-by shooting.

Just gives you warm fuzzies to know how much our government protects us from all manner of crime and unsafe foods. Taking down this Amish terror cell took an incredible act of bravery for our storm troopers.

FDA has already been working tirelessly to develop genetically altered, irradiated foods so that we can be safe. The harvested seeds won't grow from this "safety process", but the sheeple should not be trusted with growing food anyway. Must. Buy. Only. Safe. Food. Sanctioned and sponsored by our government. Nanny knows best.

Thank goodness for the FDA and partners Con Agra and Monsanto for our chemicals, genetically-altered foods and tireless support for the government through political campaign contributions.

  12. absolutely the tip of the iceberg Dan.

the assault on herbal, homeopathic and most other alternative medicine avenues escalates everyday.

cured 3 of my friends of hepC with herbs and rife-bare light equipment......blood test certified.

  14. If you threaten Monsanto, ADM, Dean Food's or Kraft's bottom line, you get a Glock in your face and your contraband confiscated.

full disclosure: I'm long farm fresh food including raw milk. My farmer actually makes yogurt right off the tit at 102* F.

Risk on. Bring it you spineless sacks of shit. *gotta go, someone's at the door!* ;)
