IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - ALL OF TRADER DAN'S WORK CAN NOW BE FOUND AT HIS OFFICIAL WEBSITE WWW.TRADERDAN.NET
PLEASE NOTE: BELOW WAS THE ORIGINAL NOTE ANNOUNCING THE TRADERDAN.COM SITE TO THE PUBLIC. I NO LONGER HAVE ANY CONNECTION TO THAT SITE.
To the readers of the site;
Thank you for your continued viewership of this site. I encourage those who have not already done so, to give the new site a try ( www.traderdan.com).
I also want to let you know that effective as of the end of this month of February, I have made a decision to no longer allow posting/comments on the site.
The reason is two-fold - first, by allowing the comments, I am forced to fend off the constant spammers from India which is tiresome.
Two - since I am only infrequently posting articles up here, the sheer depth of the comment strings is becoming rather unwieldy due to the small number of articles that I post here.
Thanks again.
Trader Dan
"When misguided public opinion honors what is despicable and despises what is honorable, punishes virtue and rewards vice, encourages what is harmful and discourages what is useful, applauds falsehood and smothers truth under indifference or insult, a nation turns its back on progress and can be restored only by the terrible lessons of catastrophe." … Frederic Bastiat
Evil talks about tolerance only when it’s weak. When it gains the upper hand, its vanity always requires the destruction of the good and the innocent, because the example of good and innocent lives is an ongoing witness against it. So it always has been. So it always will be. And America has no special immunity to becoming an enemy of its own founding beliefs about human freedom, human dignity, the limited power of the state, and the sovereignty of God. – Archbishop Chaput

Thanks Dan, best wishes to you too!
DeleteThanks Dan, you've been very gracious, patient and a seemingly no nonsense individual and host.
ReplyDeleteIt's not too often you can say that about a modern website community these days.
Best of luck to all and thanks for everyone's contributions & especially TD's.
I'll make my way into the payside at some point soon.
Have a great/warm weekend!

Had to happen.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a good forum for those not ready for the pay site. Hopefully it's helped a few.
The cease fire agreement was unrealistic and I think we all knew it would eventually come down to this type of situation.
ReplyDeleteAt some point, unless NATO drastically re-mobilizes and re-arms their Baltic States allies, Putin will move towards the Baltics and test the strength of NATO's resolve regarding Article 5/ attack upon one is an attack against all.
Europe is vulnerable and unwilling (wisely so) to militarily engage Russia over Ukraine and Putin knows it.
The Baltics region comes into focus at some point.

■Ukraine preparing for 'full-scale war,' says former envoy to Canada■
~Vadym Prystaiko, now deputy foreign minister, calls on the West to 'stiffen up in the spine'~
9:30 AM ET
CBC News
Ukraine's deputy foreign minister says he is preparing for "full-scale war" against Russia and wants Canada to help by supplying lethal weapons and the training to use them.
Vadym Prystaiko, who until last fall was Ukraine's ambassador to Canada, says the world must not be afraid of joining Ukraine in the fight against a nuclear power.
In an interview with CBC Radio's The House airing Saturday, Prystaiko says the ceasefire brokered by Germany and France was not holding.
"The biggest hub we ever had in the railroad is completely destroyed and devastated," he told host Evan Solomon about Debaltseve, captured by Russian-backed rebels after the terms were to have taken effect earlier this week.
"We see that they are not stopping," he says, suggesting the fight was now heading south to the port of Mariupol....(cont.)

It was only a matter of time before Turkey got involved. Some type of US/Turkey agreement of some sort must've been reached.

■Turkish military enters Syria to evacuate soldiers, relocate tomb■
By Orhan Coskun
ANKARA | Sun Feb 22, 2015 7:49am EST
By Orhan Coskun
ANKARA (Reuters) - Turkish forces swept into Syria overnight to rescue about 40 soldiers who had been surrounded for months by Islamic State militants while guarding the tomb of a revered Turkish figure.
The Syrian government described the operation as act of "flagrant aggression" and said it would hold Ankara responsible for its repercussions.
The action, which involved tanks, drones and reconnaissance planes as well as several hundred ground troops, was the first such incursion by Turkish troops into Syria since the start of the civil war there nearly four years ago....(cont.)

sad to see this forum go, but understand. i do believe you Dan when you say that you have tried to help people.
ReplyDeletei too have tried to help people with my comments here, and at other blogs, and it is about as thankless a mission as can be. the truth is the last thing most people want to hear. so thanks for all Dan, and for allowing me to slam the great steaming Turd one last time. also thank you Andrew Ryan for this excellent summary...
"Ah, Craig Hemke - predicting "imminent" financial collapse since 2010. Despite his deep understanding of the vast manipulation conspiracies behind the metals, he said in 2012 that if silver ever went below $22/oz ever again he'd 'eat his hat'. He spent all of 2014 calling for $26 silver by the year end. The list goes on and on, and the majority of his readers have of course abandoned him by now.
And yet...there remain his subscribers, those who sold houses and opened credit lines to go all in on silver and gold, and are now so far underwater that they cannot face the reality that the prophet they followed is such an abysmal failure, and that their wives, families and friends were right to warn them against such single-minded focus on one asset class. I can't say I blame them, but it's very sad to witness. In order to maintain this illusion, he naturally has to shut down any voices that might cause skepticism or alarm, all under the veil of 'circling the wagons' and 'protecting the watchtower'. First a paywall goes up, then all communications are shut down for non-subscribers, and finally all public comments are disabled, so that no one can participate in the conversation without handing over credit card details, proving membership in the...what's the word? Cult is too strong, but the effect is eerily similar.
To those of you that remain - try to at least acknowledge the possibility that Craig, however well meaning at the beginning, never really had any special insight and is now just squeezing you for whatever he can get before your investments are utterly demolished and you have lost all hope of TEOTGKE ever coming to pass. By all means keep your conversations with your friends going, but why pay Craig for the privilege? This is the internet, communication is free."
This free-site has been a wonderful experience and I will miss it much...
ReplyDeleteBeing here is a real-life example that light can overcome darkness....in my opinion.
Thank you very, much Dan for being kind enough to share your work on this site with us.
The "children" have awaken.
I will be joining the paid site. :)
Best of wishes to all...
Job well done, Dan! On to bigger and better things :)
ReplyDeleteIt might not be fast, but it'll happen in a big way once started.

■NATO's Response to Putin's Odd War Games Won't Be Fast■
by James G Neuger
9:12 AM EST February 22, 2015
~The theorizing that Putin will go beyond Ukraine and directly confront a NATO ally is, for the moment, just that.~
(Bloomberg) -- As the Kremlin’s warplanes probe the edges of NATO airspace, the alliance says its forces are ready if the Russians come. Political leaders will need a little longer to issue the marching orders.
Whatever the scenario -- an overt Russian attack on eastern Europe, a proxy war fought by pro-Russian rebels, a Crimea-style infiltration -- the immediate suspicion will fall on Russian President Vladimir Putin as the man behind it.
Who will order the North Atlantic Treaty Organization to strike back is less clear. The 28 governments in the U.S.-led alliance will all want a say, potentially slowing the deployment of a 5,000-man rapid-reaction force being set up to defend eastern Europe.
NATO’s commander “does not have peacetime operational control and would have to wait for allied governments to make a decision,” said John R. Deni, a professor at the U.S. Army War College’s Strategic Studies Institute in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The concern is “something less than a very clear attack, an obvious assault, tanks crossing the border. That would require time for the alliance to figure out what’s going to happen. Depending on the nature of the crisis, that delay could be substantial.”....(cont.)

■Special Report: How Iran's military chiefs operate in Iraq■
By Ned Parker, Babak Dehghanpisheh and Isabel Coles
BAGHDAD | Tue Feb 24, 2015 6:00 AM EST
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The face stares out from multiple billboards in central Baghdad, a grey-haired general casting a watchful eye across the Iraqi capital. This military commander is not Iraqi, though. He's Iranian.
The posters are a recent arrival, reflecting the influence Iran now wields in Baghdad.
Iraq is a mainly Arab country. Its citizens, Shi'ite and Sunni Muslims alike, have long mistrusted Iran, the Persian nation to the east. But as Baghdad struggles to fight the Sunni extremist group Islamic State, many Shi'ite Iraqis now look to Iran, a Shi'ite theocracy, as their main ally.
In particular, Iraqi Shi'ites have grown to trust the powerful Iranian-backed militias that have taken charge since the Iraqi army deserted en masse last summer. Dozens of paramilitary groups have united under a secretive branch of the Iraqi government called the Popular Mobilisation Committee, or Hashid Shaabi....(cont.)

rumors are circulating that gold will be over $2000/oz by the end of the month, silver at least $22!!! - yup, that's in only a few days! so keep your chins up hopeless if not already bankrupted bugs! in other news, Turd Ferguson saw a UFO last night...
ReplyDeletehttp://www.tfmetalsreport.com/comment/472925#comment-472925
You have to wonder about the continual 3rd person references to a fictional Turd character that he proclaims he's trying to shed. Not so much.
DeleteI guess some people are continuing to look for any or all signs that "the end is near".
It's almost funny to think that anyone would take advice or take seriously the (a)musings of someone who is emotionally or financially attached to a collapse of any type.
The UFO in question looks like a simple reverse lensing light artifact off of the moon.
How obvious is that?
Typical mountain out of a non-existent molehill type stuff. Just like all the empty vault non-sense or other dramatic unproveable and unknowable assertions that people just gobble up or ignore and never challenge him about.
It's become an ongoing theatre of the absurd that no one any longer pays attention to judging by the lack of comments.
