Must be a Slow Day at the FDA

Apparently the Food and Drug Administration has nothing better to do with their time than hunt down those crafty food terrorists also known as the Amish.

I am shocked, simply shocked, that raw, unpasteurized milk was being sold to willing buyers. It is just a matter of time before the names of these devious dairy farmers appear on the no-fly list. Then again, maybe the feds will come up with a "no horse buggy ride" list instead.

A yearlong sting operation, including aliases, a 5 a.m. surprise inspection and surreptitious purchases from an Amish farm in Pennsylvania, culminated in the federal government announcing this week that it has gone to court to stop Rainbow Acres Farm from selling its contraband to willing customers in the Washington area.

    Of course you know why pasteurization is necessary with mass production. Because mass production of milk products causes animals to produce pus and blood, which gets into the milk.

    Small producers don't have the type of problems that require pasteurization. Milk production in small lots should be an art like crafting good beer. The Feds won't allow that to happen. That's what we lose when small producers get shut out. We just don't see everything we lose with this nasty federal government.

    The Feds bust Milk ("contraband") after a year long sting. And JP Morgan HQ and Goldman Tower go un-raided to this day. Not a one even under so much as an indictment.

    I wonder how many tax dollars were squandered on this exercise in tyranny.

    The attack on unpasteurized milk is but the tip of the iceberg when it comes to .gov trying to push small farms over the edge. .gov wants EVERY farm animal to be registered into a database. Two backyard chickens? If they're not registered, they'd become illegal (and make you a criminal)under this legislation.

    Just gives you warm fuzzies to know how much our government protects us from all manner of crime and unsafe foods. Taking down this Amish terror cell took an incredible act of bravery for our storm troopers.

    FDA has already been working tirelessly to develop genetically altered, irradiated foods so that we can be safe. The harvested seeds won't grow from this "safety process", but the sheeple should not be trusted with growing food anyway. Must. Buy. Only. Safe. Food. Sanctioned and sponsored by our government. Nanny knows best.

    Thank goodness for the FDA and partners Con Agra and Monsanto for our chemicals, genetically-altered foods and tireless support for the government through political campaign contributions.

    full disclosure: I'm long farm fresh food including raw milk. My farmer actually makes yogurt right off the tit at 102* F.
