"When misguided public opinion honors what is despicable and despises what is honorable, punishes virtue and rewards vice, encourages what is harmful and discourages what is useful, applauds falsehood and smothers truth under indifference or insult, a nation turns its back on progress and can be restored only by the terrible lessons of catastrophe." … Frederic Bastiat

Evil talks about tolerance only when it’s weak. When it gains the upper hand, its vanity always requires the destruction of the good and the innocent, because the example of good and innocent lives is an ongoing witness against it. So it always has been. So it always will be. And America has no special immunity to becoming an enemy of its own founding beliefs about human freedom, human dignity, the limited power of the state, and the sovereignty of God. – Archbishop Chaput

Ron Paul's Farewell Speech on the Floor of the House of Representatives

All lovers of liberty should take the time to listen to Dr. Paul's final speech on the floor of the US House of Representatives. I sincerely doubt I will ever see his likes again but one can always hope against hope. His commitment to liberty is indisputable. Perhaps his son will pick up the banner in 2016.

I cannot but feel a deep sense of loss at a principled man who served his country and his citizens and somehow managed to keep alive his principles in the midst of that moral cesspool on the Potomac.

You may not agree with all of this views but at least you knew exactly where he stood and WHY.

The speech is a bit long for we in this generation whose attention span barely exceeds that of a gnat but grab a cup of coffee or a cup of tea and tune in to hear someone who makes sense and really means it!

Pay close attention to Dr. Paul's comments on the home schooling movement and how it is the remedy for the future generation  of lovers of liberty. The government controlled public school system is responsible for the economic and political ignorance that now has the current generation firmly in its grasp.

  1. Indeed Dan great speech. Sadly, it will be overlooked by millions. Millions who care not of Liberty or Freedom, but of Materialistic principles and Free handouts. Keep up the great work you do.

  2. it's truly a whole different state of consciousness......... thinking that your life is 'entitled' ..........instead of 'what am I going to make of my life'

  3. His comments are a complete historical record of where we came from, where we are and the logical future results of those activities. The presentation is highly recommended.

It's unfortunate few listened to his common sense approach. However, this does not negate the value of his contributions in the least.

Regrettably, the final chapter written will be painful prelude to a necessary resurrection of these timeless principles, long since forgotten.

  4. I was homeschooled in Canada, and have always believed it was one of the best things that ever happened to me. There was even a study recently that showed homeschoolers are very independent thinkers, highly unlikely to depend on government welfare, they're more likely to be self-reliant, community supportive, and involved in politics. Definitely true!

I like many of America's allies- watch with a morbid interest from afar, and am very glad not to be inside the fated country! Especially hearing about the right abuses of the increasingly totalitarian government. I'm quite happy in New Zealand at the moment.

It's also amusing and sad to hear americans saying "ah well when things get bad then I'll move to so-and-so country". I think they overestimate their ability to easily immigrate to other countries. It's not that simple!
