"When misguided public opinion honors what is despicable and despises what is honorable, punishes virtue and rewards vice, encourages what is harmful and discourages what is useful, applauds falsehood and smothers truth under indifference or insult, a nation turns its back on progress and can be restored only by the terrible lessons of catastrophe." … Frederic Bastiat

Evil talks about tolerance only when it’s weak. When it gains the upper hand, its vanity always requires the destruction of the good and the innocent, because the example of good and innocent lives is an ongoing witness against it. So it always has been. So it always will be. And America has no special immunity to becoming an enemy of its own founding beliefs about human freedom, human dignity, the limited power of the state, and the sovereignty of God. – Archbishop Chaput

  3. 99.9% of the time there is no way to improve or even comment on anything you write. As I always say, it is required reading for any thinking human being. So for those of us that only comment very occasionally, its not that we dont want to, you have said everything there is to say. Brilliantly, of course.

  5. Dan,
I also enjoy your new blog ,now we get to read your views more often. Also enjoy your weekly show with Eric king. When it come to TA on gold, silver , dollar etc you are one of the best out there . It interesting that gold has not made a new high with all of the geo-political events taking place . Maybe you could comment on this development.Just makes no sense to me ,I would of thought that gold and silver would be much higher in price -all the news both from an economic and political point of view have been gold/silvr positive for the last six weeks if not more .

  7. robert, you said "It interesting that gold has not made a new high with all of the geo-political events taking place".... .it is hard to recall the specifics now,but i do recall hearing this very complaint numerous times over the last several years. here we are w/in 2% of the highs.
we could be at new highs by monday afternoon. i am content w/ the explanation that this gold bull has been and will continue to be one of the most devious(and dare i say long-lasting) little bull markets in the history of the world. it is clearly one of the more clever tricks this bull has used to keep folks from getting on its' back.
i will continue to give this bull the benefit of the doubt, until proven otherwise
