Interesting point about a transition to ...Hi Dan, <br /><br />Interesting point about a transition to a service economy--my view is that the transports are reliable because of the dominance of the internet in terms of both shopping & logistics. Tranny components include Fed Ex and UPS. So that should be a VERY good indicator of what is happening in the economy. As well, the railroads KSU, UNP, CSX might be skewing the average to make the economy look better than it is--as the they are a short-medium term fix for the lack of infrastructure to bring oil from Bakken & Canada to the edges of the continent. <br /><br />FedEx is probably the canary in the coal mine as it is critical to JIT supply chain operations worldwide.
